Years ago, I was a struggling artist when a company NEIP (Northeast Internet Publishing) approached me to do some design work for them. So you could say from then on I began my way into the interactive school of hard knocks. NEIP liked my illustrative capabilities and thought I would transition well into graphic arts and web development. Not having any experience in web design I started to research and train myself graphics and web design. At the time there were little to no schools who offered a web program. Now there are many schools offering classes in interactive development and a web dog is on every corner. Self taught at NEIP; I eventually became their lead designer and production coordinator for over four years.
I then decided it was time for a change. I decided to look into other companies that offered more then just web design services. That eventually led me to meet Marc Dole. Marc Dole is a well known video editor, producer and has expertise in 3D animation and special effects. Most of the projects we worked on tie into each others skill sets very well. After a few years of ramping up and transitioning I helped to develop the birth of Hatching Studios. I took on the roll of VP of Interactive operations and lead creative as well as the art director for the animation dept. I helped the company grow by assisting in most every aspect of the interactive business. One of my talents is the ability to feel out what the client wants right away and visually define the end result quickly. It starts by listening. I will then apply what I have learned to my design approach… keeping in mind every aspect of their needs to cover every aspect. Knowing what the client wants initially saves time and money with no major revisions. Sounds easy, but its much harder than it sounds. Hatching has become very profitable in the creative aspects of business and I attribute that to the design process I helped to create. Having a long self paved background in web development allows me to quickly recommend and develop rapidly.
Currently I am an independent creative director and work for many companies to help them with their creative media.
I am always eager to relay these unique practices and techniques to team members to help increase their productivity.
I enjoy snowboarding in the winter and waveboarding in the summer. I live in Dover NH with my wife Julie and two sons Owen and William.
